About Me:
Strength in numbers: With all the new political focus into education and inclusion, I think our group has the ability to affect change. In order for our girls to be in inclusion, they must be given an appropriate augmentative communication device with the general curriculum adapted to their specific needs. We were informed recently that despite the funding issues the school district is hiring and inclusion expert due to the political/funding benefits they receive in moving in that direction. We need to provide strong input to make sure their plan is effective as the schools move in this direction. If we just leave it up to them, their goal of more funding will be the main focus.
