Thank you, Karen. You are way too kind. Seriously, the "edublogosphere" really is much more than a network of people who care about meeting the learning needs of the children in our schools. It's a very warm, friendly, helpful, and encouraging com...
I've been an educator for 30 years, progressing from elementary and middle school classroom teacher to itinerant district special needs support teacher to AT consultant in multiple school districts. At present I facilitate the use of AT in 5 school districts on the northern half of Vancouver Island. I work with SET-BC, an assistive technology resource program of the BC Ministry of Education.
UDL is a theoretical and practical framework that encapsulates the direction in which I have been moving ever since I started teaching in the late 70's. I am passionate about helping teachers intentionally adopt this more inclusive and effective approach to learning and teaching. Although it is somewhat incidental to my "job", I am doing my best to help equip educators with practical tools to facilitate implementation of a UDL approach in their classrooms.
My "hobby" is sharing free resources that are available on the internet and that can benefit learners and their teachers at all levels. This is an exciting and rewarding challenge, but it is becoming almost overwhelming. High quality resources seem to be arriving on the scene at an almost exponential rate.
Introduced your great work to Icelandic teachers. Take a look at the latest news on the Icelandic educational gateway.

Hi Paul
Great to see others on the same wave length with UDL.... it's my pet topic with educators.
I always reinforce its principles in all my workshops.
Thanks for spending the time elaborating on all the tools you discover.. I have been spreading the word about so many of the tools you have found for quite a while now, but I haven't had the time to blog them. (and you post so eloquently too!!).

Hey Paul, I just viewed the videos that you shared and loved them! Thanks for sharing. These are the kinds of inspirational people that make us want to do the work we do, doesn't it?

I would be rapt if you were listed as a friend. We seem to have much in common. I've been at this AT since 1984 so I am a new chum compared to many here.
Cheers, Gerry.
Thank you Paul! You just made my day! I'm always glad to hear that I have been able to help other teachers and kids that I haven't even met yet and that they enjoy the activities that I have been inspired to create for other kids. It's such a rewarding field to be involved in, and like you said in your bio, "This is an exciting and rewarding challenge, but it is becoming almost overwhelming. High quality resources seem to be arriving on the scene at an almost exponential rate." I so agree with you on that one! I have a hard time keeping up too. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the people here in this field and keep learning more every day. I'll just keep sharing with others as well as pushing some people that don't keep up as well:) I have a few particular teachers in mind with that comment.
I look forward to sharing more and hearing your ideas along the way.
