I have been teaching for twenty three years. Originally trained as a Middle School Teacher (when Middle Schooling wasn’t trendy), I has moved freely between Primary and Secondary education and have had the opportunity to experience a number of teaching, middle management and leadership roles in New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania; including multi-age teaching, Pastoral Care Coordinator, Head of Department and Primary School Principal.
As Head of Department of Learning Support at St Patricks College, Launceston, I developed whole school based procedures for the introduction and implementation of Inclusive Learning Technologies. I believe that effective implementation and use of Inclusive Learning Technologies is dependent upon three factors; school policy, classroom practice and assisting students with Special Needs.
I have always been interested in technology, particularly in relation to learning and teaching. I do not consider himself a technical expert, but a caring teacher who is motivated to provide learning and access options for students with a variety of learning needs. My greatest passion is in the area of literacy, where I am very focused in assisting students with learning disabilities and difficulties to overcome the academic, motivational, social emotional and cognitive/meta-cognitive barriers that they are confronted with each day.
Hi Bill. Great to see you here.... the group is growing so well that soon I won't need to ring anyone to organise participation in our AT Conferences next year - I can just plead and cajole here :-)
