Has anyone had any experience with either of these programs? I am trying to find MAC alternatives to DRAGON for a MAC using school.
Thanks for the input!

I tried ViaVoice but was never able to work out the kinks. My enunciation is clear (however Southern) and I read well, but it never 'translated' closely enough for me. I spent a lot of time and effort on it, but eventually threw it in the trash!

Hi Michelle,

I recently tried Mac Dictate. It was a quick training and keeping in mind that I speak clearly and appropriately for speech rec, I got 99.5% accuracy in reading a 400 word reading passage. FYI - I used the microphone that came with the program. I have some notes on things I liked/didn't like about the program in comparison to Dragon, but my notes are at school, and we just started spring break. If you need the info, I will pull it when I get back and reply again.

Good luck,
Lynda Hartman

I appreciate the info...for the schools that are MAC only, I like to provide them an alternative...but if it comes down to quality, they may have to get a PC and run Dragon.
Thanks..if you have the notes when you get back to school and can send them, that would be great!
Thanks
