SmartBoards for Students with Autism
I'm giving a presentation in two weeks on the effectiveness of SmartBoard use with students who are autistic. I know that Classroom Suite and a number of commercially available software tools work very effectively with IWBs. I want to concentrate on the free websites. Some of my favorite free sites include:
Starfall - especially the Calendar
Kerpoof - especially Draw a Picture and SuperDoodle
Sebran -
Mini-Sebran
Do2Learn - Free Songs and Games
TarHeel Reader
Edusim ? Are you already using this tool? Can you share your experience with it?
Do you have additional sites that I should add to my resource list for the presentation? I believe the use of IWBs represents a paradigm shift in our work with students who are autistic. We can shift from discrete trials, 1:1 adult intervention to small class instruction and generalization of skills.
